Felda wary of wounded Kelantan

FELDA United FC are bracing themselves for a Kelantan backlash when the teams meet in a Super League match at Sultan Mohamad (IV) Stadium in Kota Baru tomorrow.

Coach E. Elavarasan said it's not the most ideal time to face the Malaysia Cup champions after they lost top spot in the table following their loss to T-Team on Tuesday.

"They are now like a wounded tiger and will do everything to rebound from the unexpected loss in Kuala Terengganu," said Elavarasan.

"Our job is much harder now as Kelantan are unlikely to make many mistakes. Also, their fans will not allow them to take things easy." Elavarasan's team are more than familiar with Kelantan having played each other in the two-leg FA Cup quarter-finals last month.

"Both legs were played in Kota Baru as our stadium in Cheras was not available, and while we managed to hold them 1-1 in the first leg, we were beaten 3-0 in the second game.

"It will be nice if we can exact revenge on them, just like T-Team did, but it will not be easy as we are playing in Kota Baru again," added the coach.

Kelantan coach M. Karathu said the team had learned a few important lessons in the last defeat.

"It's always costly to make mistakes and we did make quite a number against T-Team, especially in the first half.

"But I am proud of the way my boys responded from being three goals down to almost salvaging something from the match, so they should be in the mood to crush Felda United on Saturday (tomorrow)," he said. -- ZAINUDDIN MUHAMMAD
