JOHOR FC players held a meeting without the knowledge of team officials before going on a 12-hour bus journey to Kuala Terengganu for today's Super League match against high riding Terengganu.
The long journey saw the players ponder over the team's below par performance under coach K. Devan, who himself is equally baffled with his "under-performers".
Johor FC suffered an embarrassing exit in the FA Cup quarter-finals, losing to Premier League newcomers Sime Darby (5-3 on aggregate after (3-2 away) and (2-1 home) defeats.
In the Super League, Johor FC are also languishing at the wrong end of the table with only 10 points to show after 10 matches.
But team manager Wan Nizam Wan Omar still believes his team are capable of a top five finish.
"It has not been plain sailing for Johor FC so far. After knocking out former champions Negri Sembilan (first round) and five-time champions Selangor (second round), much was expected of the team in the FA Cup.
"We have the material but somehow we have not clicked. The team have yet to get over the FA Cup but we are going to Terengganu with confidence," said Wan Nizam
