FAM to handle footballing students

PETALING JAYA: The Ministry of Higher Education, in collaboration with the FA of Malaysia (FAM), will send a football team to the World University Games in Shenzen from Aug 12-23.
According to Ahmad Naim Ismail, the ministry's assistant sports secretary, FAM will handle the team.
"We will bear the cost but FAM will pick the coach and players," said Ahmad Naim.
FAM assistant secretary general Ahmad Fuad Daud said: "The players will be picked from the Harimau Muda teams, President’s Cup and the ongoing MoHE football league."
Malaysia received a wild card to play in the tournament by virtue of their 12th placing in the 2007 edition in Bangkok.
In Shenzen, Malaysia have been drawn in the same group as Brazil, Russia and Yugoslavia.
